Beatson Cancer Charity is a very successful, high profile and rapidly growing independent charity that enhances the treatment, care and wellbeing of people affected by cancer and, through a unique partnership with the NHS, supports the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and its related facilities. The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer centre is one of the biggest and busiest in the UK, and an internationally renowned centre of excellence treating more than 8,000 new cancer patients each year.
Beatson Cancer Charity provides high quality patient and family support services through its unique and award-winning Wellbeing Centre, throughout the wards and departments of The Beatson, and in the wider community at cancer treatment facilities across the west of Scotland. The charity also funds specialist clinical staff, innovative service developments and medical equipment, world leading research projects and cancer education and awareness initiatives
Beatson Cancer Charity has an increasing income, now at GBP5million per annum, and an ambitious strategy for the next five years - to continue to grow organically and to meet the needs of cancer patients in a manner that is intrinsic and loyal to Beatson Cancer Charity values, ensuring people remain at the heart of all they do. Their vision is to further develop care services and provide increased funding to greater meet the needs of all those affected by cancer
The charity is looking to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer to lead and develop the growth of the organisation. As CEO, you will work with the Board to set the strategic direction for developing Beatson Cancer Charity in all areas, and to achieve its mission and objectives.
You will develop relationships with key figures in the NHS, national cancer charities and key funders and donors both in the UK and on an international basis. Candidates will bring credibility and inspiration to the organisation, with a passion for its cause.
