What the job involves

We are looking for a special person to be the perfect fit in an established, experienced and successful community fundraising team to cover a period of maternity leave. You'll be responsible for managing our fundraising portfolio in Scotland, focusing on community and sporting events fundraising. We need your experience to continue the growth we've seen in fundraising in Scotland in recent years.

You'll proactively grow and develop your income areas. You will put supporters right at the heart of our work, will be led by their preferences and continually look to grow and diversify the scope of relationships we have with them.

Together with our Fundraising Co-ordinator, who you'll line manage, you will ensure that donors have a great experience fundraising for Prostate Cancer UK. You'll also have the chance to work on UK-wide initiatives, such as our March for Men walking programme, and support the fundraising leadership team in developing and delivering cross organisational projects.

What we want from you

This is an exciting opportunity for a bright, personable and enthusiastic individual to really shine. We are looking for an individual who can hit the ground running. You'll have a solid and proven community fundraising background and experience of sporting events fundraising. Ideally, you'll also have a working knowledge of trusts fundraising, in memory and corporate fundraising.

You will spot and act quickly on new fundraising opportunities, you'll have first class relationship-building skills, a way with words, excellent written English, the ability to manage income and expenditure budgets and interpret financial information.

Why work for us?

We have a simple ambition - to stop men dying from prostate cancer.

Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention and support, we can make prostate cancer a disease the next generation of men need not fear. Be part of a team that will put an end to prostate cancer being a killer.

The support we'll provide

Join our team and you'll be working at an award-winning charity that will help you learn, develop your skills and expertise, and achieve your highest aspirations. We provide everything you'd expect from a professional organisation - competitive benefits package, contributory pension scheme, life insurance, child care vouchers, and season ticket loan - but much more besides. Work with us and you'll see your efforts pay off as we fight for a better future for men.

Closing date: 14 August 2017.

Interview date: 23 & 24 August 2017.

We welcome applications from all sections of the community.
