Job Vacancy

A vacancy currently exists for a time-served Mechanic based at our Bonnyrigg Depot, working a 39 hour week, Monday to Friday.

It is essential the jobholder is a time served mechanic qualified to SVQ 3 level or equivalent with a proven track record of maintaining LGV's. A full working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, air and pneumatic systems for motor vehicles.

The successful candidate will have a current LGV Driving Licence and undertake, duties concerned with the repair and maintenance of the Council's fleet. Candidates should preferably hold an MOT testers certificate.

Hours of Work: 36 Hours per Week + 3 Hours Contract Overtime

Working Pattern: 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Thursday
7:30am to 3:00pm Friday
(half an hour unpaid lunch break each day)

Weeks per year: 52

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

Based on you working 39 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £24,204 per annum.
