The post of Tenancy Support officer offers an excellent opportunity to work in a busy area housing team with a diverse group of customers to help them develop independent living skills to sustain their tenancies. The post holder requires excellent knowledge of welfare benefits and tenancy management and to possess well developed interpersonal skills. The ability to develop and maintain strong partnership working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders is crucial to the success of this role.



Job Details

As part of the community Housing Service, to provide front line housing support, advice and assistance to vulnerable tenants to assist them in maintaining their tenancy and to promote peaceful and sustainable communities in East Lothian, in accordance with Council policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to HNC/SVQ3 in Housing, Social Care or equivalent and/or be able to demonstrate skills and competencies gained through previous experience.
Full current driving licence and access to a vehicle (*see Job Outline/Person Spec)

PVG Membership
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
