Team Manager (Temporary for 1 year)

As part of our redesign of Children and Families Services in East Renfrewshire, this represents an exciting opportunity to join an organisation which evidences high standards of practice. The post holder will be responsible for delivering operational social work services to children, young people and their families at a time of change, particularly as the Children and Young Person’s (Scotland) Act 2014 becomes more fully implemented.


You will be responsible for: management, administration and development of operational social work services in accordance with national and local standards/policies; effective staff supervision, development and leadership as well as ensuring workloads are managed appropriately; contribution to child protection, planning for children’s services and supporting the ongoing implementation of local service redesign. Your work will, of course, reflect your knowledge of and commitment to GIRFEC principles, alongside our commitment to corporate parenting in East Renfrewshire.


You will be involved in financial and other resource management, performance management, service development and will be expected to promote targeted interventions for children, young people and their families within our integrated model of health and social care. You will also support colleagues in the development of initiatives, plans, and policies related to high standards of service provision.


Applicants will hold a professional social work qualification and be able to demonstrate considerable social work experience, whilst previous supervisory experience and excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills will be an advantage.


This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  It is an offence therefore to apply if you are barred from working with children and protected adults.

The successful candidate will be required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
