Job Purpose:

To initiate, plan and implement a range of initiatives, projects and activities to meet the priorities of the Creative Learning Team.

Aberdeen City Council's Creative Learning Team aims to improve outcomes for individuals and communities through the arts, culture and creativity.

We are seeking a Creative Project Co-ordinator to instigate, plan and implement a range of projects, events and activities to meet the priorities of the team and broader service, alongside other team members in similar roles. You should be knowledgeable of the creativity in Scotland and have strong project management skills, have experience of developing partnerships, managing budgets, securing resources and managing project staff. This post has an emphasis on project management and does not include direct delivery of arts activities.

This role for the remit of Creativity across the Curriculum involves working with colleagues in education and partners across the city to advocate for and embed creativity across all learning.


The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

Degree or equivalent in an art form, cultural or arts management. In this instance, equivalent would be the demonstration of progression and success in delivery in these fields.

PVG registration.

The post holder must be prepared to:

Work flexibly as required to achieve and/ or support service delivery as the job includes some evening and weekend work.

Travel, as appropriate, on Council Business.


The post holder is expected to demonstrate:

Ability to organise and prioritise workload in order to achieve deadlines.

Ability to reflectively analyse situations and challenges and come up with creative solutions.

E- Literacy and competence in using ICT to organise manipulate and disseminate information.

Ability to produce accurate reports

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
