The Media Relations Office is responsible for promoting the wide-ranging work of the client to print, broadcast, specialist and online media,providing journalists with up-to-date information on their work. Duties Reportingto the Senior Media Relations Officer with lead responsibility for your area, general duties will include:
Providing staff with media advice on generating positive media coverage,including the most appropriate tools eg news releases/photocalls/preprepared articles/press conferences/briefings and pitching to relevant mediaaudiences; and handling negative media attention Providing a frontline media enquiry service Providing a 24-hour on-call media enquiry service as part of the wider media team (some evening and weekend working will therefore be required) Acting as an official spokesperson Evaluating media outputs and outcomes

Specificresponsibilities will include:
Providing effective media support Providing regular forward looking briefings to media on Committee work and Chamber business Working with committee clerks to develop targeted media campaigns, including identifying and developing local and specialist media opportunities Providing Media Relations Office supportacross the company engagement activities Answering media enquiries in relation to FOI requests

Skills,Knowledge and Experience Required Media Relations Expertise, including:
Experienceof devising and implementing media/public relations/communications strategies A proven track record in dealing with themedia effectively on a daily basis strong news sense and judgement A good understanding of how the media works across all its forms and the ability to use this knowledge to promote the business Sound IT skills with good understandingof new media A good level of political andParliamentary knowledge A high level of responsiveness inrelation to the media environment in which you will work

A Catering Manager is required to join one of a group of 4 outdoor adventure centres in Scotland. The team is trained to ensure the best hospitality and customer service possible in some of the most stunning (and occasionally remote) locations in Scotland.

Who should apply?

This challenging and varied role is essential to their ministry as their kitchen team are crucial in ensuring their guests and staff are well looked after. They are looking for a hands-on team leader who has a good level of initiative. First and foremost, they are looking for people who want to serve God in this kind of outreach, so your Christian Faith will be evident in your life.

What are the key tasks?

- To supervise, train and work with the catering team, ensuring high standards of catering alongside quality and portion control for guests and staff on a daily basis
- To be responsible for writing menus appropriate to the customer and to manage the ordering, collection and stock rotation of food within the confines of a budget
- To maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and food hygiene in the kitchen, providing training to team members where necessary
- To manage the paperwork and record keeping associated with catering management, keeping up to date with current legislation and government advice
- To have a working knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and COSHH
- Active involvement with their “Explore” Christian programme

Ideally, what are they looking for?

- A motivated, flexible individual who demonstrates initiative
- A working knowledge of a catering department
- Previous experience of leading a team
- Full UK driving licence with D1 entitlement
- Positive Christian role model for both guests and staff

It is an Occupational Requirement, in terms of the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003, that this post is filled by a practicing Christian.

In line with good practice, PVG Scheme membership (Scottish criminal records check) with Disclosure Scotland is required.
