HR-OD Support Assistant
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) would like to invite applications for the post of HR-OD Support Assistant on a part-time basis within the Workforce Planning and Resourcing Team based at Hamilton on a temporary basis to 31 March 2018. The work pattern for the role is detailed within the attached Recruitment Information Pack.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small, friendly, busy team where you will operate within a fast paced, demanding environment and will have responsibility for a variety of administrative tasks associated with the timely and accurate delivery of an end to end workforce planning & resourcing service within the SFRS.
Reporting to the Team Leader, the key requirements of the role are to support the day to day administration of our online vacancies, campaigns and personnel movements. You will act as the liaison between managers, job applicants and internal personnel, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of all queries. Duties involve the posting of job adverts, coordinating interviews, preparing offer paperwork, obtaining references, maintaining candidate tracking databases and updating systems in line with HR policies, processes and relevant documents.
The ideal candidate will be a team player and will have a background within an HR / Resourcing environment. Excellent PC skills and a working knowledge of MS Office, in particular Word and Excel are essential. Experience of working with the ‘myjobscotland' recruitment portal and iTrent is desirable, although training will be provided.

Applicants require to be able to communicate effectively and be confident and courteous when dealing with customers offering support and guidance. You will need to be self-motivated and show flexibility in your working attitude. You must be able to understand what it's like to work under pressure and to deadlines and an absolute essential is a good sense of humour!

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements.
