Job Description

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Provide efficient and effective, customer focused support to Council Services, working on an individual basis or collaboratively as part of a team. 

Responsible for day-to-day administrative duties at the Macduff Marine Aquarium to ensure efficient and smooth operation, in accordance with Aberdeenshire Council's guidelines and financial regulations including sourcing, ordering and re-sale of shop stock.

The  administrator at the aquarium is an important position within the aquarium team to ensure smooth running of office operations, the gift shop and compliance with Aberdeenshire Council's policies and procedures. The post holder will be required to undertake a variety of administrative tasks. These include financial procedures such as daily income reconciliation, recording and reporting, purchasing and processing of invoices, as well as staffing admin tasks and generally maintaining the office systems. Additionally, the post holder will be responsible for running the gift shop - sourcing goods for resale, merchandising, monitoring stock levels, ensuring tight stock control and overseeing regular stock takes. Finally, the post holder will also have reception duties including customer facing and answering customers' queries by phone, email and via social media.
