To provide an efficient reception service by welcoming visitors both in person and on telephone, answering or referring inquiries and taking payment. To ensure that appropriate procedures are adhered to with regard to Customer Care policies.

To be a member of an area team providing clerical support to Community Use. 

Fife Council pays the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate to employees earning less than £8.51 per hour. If the hourly rate of pay for the post is less than the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate a supplement will be paid.



Requirements

A cheery and chatty personality and good organisational skills are vital.

Applicants must have Standard Grades (level 3 or above or equivalent) in English and Mathematics, good keyboard and IT skills, knowledge of Word and Excel, experience of cash handling and working with the public.

Responsibilities

You will be the first point of contact for many groups and individuals so must have a good knowledge of the programme and facilities. You will be responsible for welcoming visitors, by greeting them in person or on the telephone and answering inquiries. Duties include cash handling and reconciliation, using a computer based system (TLMS) for bookings and payments, producing and updating registers and other general clerical duties.



The Individual

Good verbal, listening and communication skills are vital as you will be dealing with customers in a front line capacity and a professional manner must be adopted at all times. 

Ability to work on own initiative and take responsibility where necessary and to work as part of a team.

Good IT skills, cash handling, organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload and work flexibly are necessary requirements.
