Support Workers (20 hours), Riverview, Quarriers Village

We currently have an opportunity available for a Support Worker to join our established team at Riverview Respite project situated within the heart of Quarriers Village at Bridge of Weir. This service provides a homely, safe and nurturing environment for people with disabilities to live.
We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join a work rota system to cover various shifts on permanent basis working 20 hours per week.
Registered as a practitioner successful candidate would be expected to take park in the support of individuals of varying abilities who are on the short term respite stay at Riverview. This is a busy fast pace environment where you can pick up skills and knowledge quickly and have access to comprehensive training to keep you informed.
You will be resilient with strong self-awareness and excellent people skills with a commitment to a person centred approach. Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and complex support needs is desirable. However, a willingness to learn the necessary skills is essential as specific training will be provided during your planned induction to the service.
Duties will include; direct physical assistance, emotional support, advice and encouragement in all areas of peoples' life from housework to medication, responding to their needs for physical health and emotional well-being. This includes the promotion of their relationships with family, friends and external agencies to maximise their potential to lead a full and active life.

Due lack of public transport to the village in the evenings and at weekends, it is essential that candidates have access to their own transport.
Please note that IT skills are required for all Quarriers vacancies.
Successful candidates will be required to register with the SSSC. Where you are employed in a service where registration is compulsory, you must ensure that you register in the appropriate category within 6 months of starting in post. After registration, there is a requirement to be qualified within 3 years.
