The GCU Outreach department, in which the Caledonian Club sits, is at the front line of delivering the University's commitment to the Common Good working with pupils and students from across Glasgow's schools and colleges.

The post holder will Lead on the coordination and delivery of senior phase programmes in the Caledonian Club at Glasgow Caledonian University. The post is a support/pastoral role and the roleholder will work with S5 and S6 pupils to undertake a range of preparatory and directed activities with positive post school destinations in mind. Working closely with teaching staff at partner schools as well as pupils on a one-to-one and group basis to identify best steps for the pupils, offering additional learning opportunities, providing pupil support and coordinating workshops and events with skill development and resilience at the fore.

Essential criteria for this opportunity:

E1 - Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
E2 - Postgraduate teaching qualification or equivalent
E3 - Experience of supporting young people in selecting post school pathway
E4 - Comprehensive knowledge of UCAS application process and knowledge of current HE landscape
E5 - Experience of working within education at either teaching or associate secondary level role
E6 - Knowledge of widening access, participation and fair access landscape
E7 - Experience supporting pupils with a range of academic and personal needs
E8 - Evidence of effective use of time and resources
E9 - Evidence of ability to communicate clearly, simply and effectively.

The successful candidate must be able to follow a flexible working pattern including occasional evening work.
