This is an exciting opportunity for young people to work within the community as a Modern Apprentice within Home Care. We are looking for young people who have a genuine interest in delivering a service to clients within the community, enabling them to live as independently as possible. We have 2,500 clients whom we assist with daily living tasks such as personal care, medication, meals, sitter service, and re-ablement. We work closely with other services to ensure that clients receive a holistic assessment of their needs. This includes care management, occupational therapy and physiotherapists working with health professionals i.e. nurses and doctors.
The successful candidates will be mentored by experienced home carers and have the full support of the Care Team Coordinator and Home Care Manager; they will also complete SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care with the full support of their mentor.
Both the initial training and the work experience gained will pave the way for progression through a career in the care field. This Modern Apprentice programme is open to candidates aged 16-19. Academic achievement to Scottish National Level 4 or 5 or equivalent is essential.
