Location: Orchard Brae School
Duration: Permanent, Full Time

This is a Team Leader post based at Orchard Brae School managing the Children with Disabilities Social Work Team which includes 5 Care Co-ordinators and 1 Social Worker delivering front line services across Aberdeen City.

Job Purpose:
To lead and manage a statutory service for children, young people and their families. Promote and protect the welfare of vulnerable service users, their families and carers. Create an environment where each service user is enabled to maximise their potential and to contribute to the service users' social, physical and mental wellbeing and promote active citizenship in a holistic way.



Requirements

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

CQSW/Diploma in Social Work/CSS
Post qualifying experience working with children and families
Working directly with Children, young people and/or adults
Experience of working with children and families
Leadership, management and supervision experience
PDA in Supervision or equivalent (or willingness to achieve within agreed timescales)
Knowledge and experience of proactive responses to challenging behaviour
Maintaining SSSC Registration
PVG
Driving licence( desirable)



Responsibilities

The post holder is expected to demonstrate:

The ability to assess and communicate effectively with service users, staff and other stakeholders to achieve improved outcomes for service users
Ability to plan, manage and lead the work of other staff; effectively motivate, supervise staff, providing guidance and support including effective induction
Ability to manage priorities and deadlines
Operate as a member of a team and take responsibility for the health and the safety of service users / Staff in their environment in conjunction with the Team Manager
Ability to challenge poor practice
The ability to support and develop staff to advocate on behalf of service users with professionals and appropriate agencies
Organising, chairing, taking part in regular team and multi agency meetings
