Volunteer Co-ordinator Assistant

Scottish Book Trust, Scotland’s national charity transforming lives through reading and writing, is looking to employ a Volunteer Co-Ordinator Assistant to support the Volunteer Coordinator working in Stirling Library services.

The Volunteer Co-ordinator Assistant will specifically support the delivery of the test phase of the Reading Agency’s Reading Friend’s project which matches Volunteer Reading Partners and older people through reading activities as an approach to help reduce isolation. Stirling Library services will be trialling the test phase from October 2017 to June 2018 and the Volunteer Co-ordinator Assistant will support Stirling Library services existing Volunteer Co-ordinator to deliver a variety of reading based activities by supporting Reading Partner Volunteers and the older people they are matched with, to ensure they have safe and enjoyable experiences.

This is a freelance position, at £9 per hour, working 18 hours per week from December 2017 to June 2018 (6 months - 26 weeks in total).

The closing date is 5pm on Monday 16th October and interviews will take place on Tuesday 24th October.
