Duration: Fixed Term up to 6th July 2018, 14.25 Hours per Week (The post holder will be required to work on a Monday and one other day of the week to be mutually agreed).

Location: Bridge of Don Academy

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage a quality secondary school Library Resource Centre (LRC), to support teaching and learning and to collaborate with school and authority staff to meet national, corporate and authority guidelines.


The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

Degree or post graduate qualification in Library & Information Studies.

PVG Membership for Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults or
willingness to obtain prior to a formal offer of employment being made.

Note : Requirement to work flexibly as required.


The post holder is expected to demonstrate ability to:

Design and deliver user education programmes for young people and to deliver
training to staff.

Confidently use a range of ICT equipment and new technologies in service
delivery and development.

Work with young people; recognising individual learning needs and
school discipline and behaviour policies.

Actively promote information literacy throughout the school.

Promote the LRC as a centre of knowledge exchange and to create and
promote a positive learning environment.

Manage projects.

Collaborate with other services to support learning and teaching.

Prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
