You will ensure passengers have a safe and comfortable journey and that the vehicle is operated safely and legally at all times within the boundaries of Health and Safety requirements. This will include being familiar with and operating any specialist equipment within the vehicle (such as passengers lifts, wheelchair clamps etc.) and ensuring that the passengers board and alight safely.

Fife Council pays the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate to employees earning less than £8.51 per hour. If the hourly rate of pay for the post is less than the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate a supplement will be paid.


Before confirming appointment, you will require to obtain PVG Scheme Membership through Disclosure Scotland.


You must conduct the prescribed vehicle checks, routine maintenance, cleaning and completion of the necessary paperwork.

You will assist with settling and securing passengers prior to commencement of journey and ensure that a designated responsible person is always in attendance when passengers are on board.

You will also operate in a handyperson capacity providing services including portage, minor repairs and maintenance to buildings, fixtures, furnishings and general maintenance of internal and external areas when required.

Significant driving experience is essential together with a full Driving Licence.
