Support Worker (SVQ Level 2 Playwork)


Schools Out Kids Club, Montrose based in a primary school environment, have a vacancy for a Support Worker.

Preferred qualifications: NC/SVQ Level 2 but will consider experienced worker who has not yet achieved qualification.

Mon - Friday Term Time hours 20/week & Holiday & In-Service session Hrs 25/week.

Outline of Core Duties:

To be a positive role model for the Children and Staff at all times

To respect the children, other staff, parents/carers and all visitors to the club

To interact appropriately with the children attending club and to ensure all children are signed out of club as they leave and the time they actually left club with the appropriate adult

To help set up the room using the current room plan and pack all resources in correct boxes

To work as part of a team to ensure the children in our care have a positive experience

To ensure that only the nominated person collects the children from club

To help plan activities and trips appropriate to the children's age, ability and stages of development

To promote positive behaviour and deal with any negative behaviour in accordance with the club's policies and procedures with the guidance of the Practitioner. Be prepared to attend the “Disruptive Behaviour training course

To help plan, prepare, administer and tidy away snack daily

To shadow staff taking bookings, collecting fess and writing receipts

To assist in the completion of any paperwork for the day to day running of the club- Toilet checks, Risk Assessments, Planning & Snack etc;

To supervise the children when they are using the computer/internet and help children using the homework corner

To attend any relevant CPD training booked on your behalf by the organisation to enhance your skills

To be prepared to register with the Social Services Council (SSSC) to undertake any SVQ training required appropriate to the job role

To hold confidential any and all information regarding the organisation, other staff and all it's Service users

To abide by the Code of Practice & all Company Policies
