Mobile Warden (Nights)
You will be involved in responding to emergency requests for assistance from service users within their own homes. You must be an experienced social service worker with commitment, patience and an understanding of ageing and disability, and their effect on people's lives. You must be able to work under pressure and deal confidently, calmly and sensitively with difficult situations. You must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internal and external, and in addition, have excellent team working and written skills.
The post will involve responding to emergency situations and will include falls, personal care etc. You will also provide planned overnight visits to service users throughout the Falkirk Council area. Training will be provided, both formal and informal, to facilitate the delivery of the MECS service.
You are required to commit to a rostered night shift working pattern which consists of 1 night on and 7 nights off worked over an 8 week period. Night shift commences at 21:40 and finished at 07:04.
The contracted hours of the post are 8.25 hours per week, but this will be averaged over an 8 week roster period.
All MECS Wardens are paid for every minute of their shift including any meal breaks; this is necessary to allow all emergency situations to be handled at any time.
You must have, or be willing to work towards, an appropriate qualification.
All posts involve lone working.
This post is temporary until March 2018 to cover a period of secondment.
For an informal discussion, please contact Molly Forsyth on (01324) 506520.
If you are the successful candidate for this post, you will be working with children and/or vulnerable adults and therefore you must have PVG membership.
