Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person to be part of Aberdeenshire Council's Home Care Out of Hours Service.  Supported by an Out of Hours Care Team Coordinator, you will be required to respond to situations in the community.  The work is varied and interesting with the job satisfaction that comes from being part of a vital service in the community, meeting the needs of the vulnerable people.

Evening work (17:00 - 22:00 hrs) is carried out by two Home Carers on a rotational basis working as part of a team, responding to planned and unplanned calls. You will have the use of transport provided by Aberdeenshire Council as a means of travel between service users and be responsible for the security and safe keeping of buildings and equipment. 


This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
