Policy Lead Officer (Digital Strategy) (Temporary for 12 months)
Based at Renfrewshire House, Cotton Street, Paisley. We are looking for an enthusiastic Digital Leader who will drive forward the council's ambition and vision of Digital Renfrewshire and tackling digital exclusion by removing barriers to digital participation across our communities. You will have a leading role in developing and co-ordinating the delivery plan for Renfrewshire's Digital Strategy and building strong collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity to provide digital policy expertise and contribute to Paisley's flagship bid to become UK City of Culture 2021. As an excellent communicator and relationship builder you will develop appropriate communications and engagement strategies relating to the digital inclusion agenda and encourage digital interaction and communication with communities, making use of social media, websites to communicate the benefits of digital access and encourage digital participation. A critical element of the role will be developing and maintaining effective relationships with Elected Members, Council Services, Community Planning Partners, the local voluntary sector and national stakeholders to engage with and actively participate within the Digital Strategy Action Plan and ensure its success. It is essential that you have experience of digital policy/strategy development and implementation with a demonstrable record of achievement. Extensive experience in using a project planning tool such as MS Project, Excel, Word, Powerpoint and a high level of numeracy and literacy is also essential. You will have well-developed problem solving skills, effective communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. It is desirable that you have a degree and/or relevant professional qualification or Accreditation in Digital Strategy, Business Development or Project Management. Membership of a Professional Body, experience/understanding of project management, local government and partnership working are also desirable.
