Job Description

Fife Cultural Trust is an ambitious charity; its vision is for Fife to be a culturally vibrant and rewarding place to live, work, study and visit. The position of Young People's Services Officer will work within the context of service development to create and deliver predominantly, but not exclusively, library services to children, young people, families, carers and teachers.


We are looking for a creative, inspiring, commercially minded person who has the experience and knowledge to lead a team, develop strong partnerships, identifying new funding opportunities and delivering on a range of challenging projects. The right person will champion reading, challenge perceptions and spark innovation across Fife Cultural Trust; working with colleagues to reach new customers, enhance visitor experiences and maximise our potential to generate income.



The post holder is required to hold a Degree or equivalent in relevant discipline (e.g. BA Librarianship & Information Studies; English Language / creative degree.)



Responsible for developing reading collections both physical and online, driving literacy initiatives, engaging users and inspiring colleagues at all levels.  Maintain a range of statistics vital for FCT business development and maximise income generation through community partnership work and successful funding applications.  Build our reputation and raise awareness of our offering to customers and visitors through effective use of networks, our website and social media, and in doing so expand our customer base and increase visitor numbers to our venues.


The Individual

We are seeking a creative, skilled and knowledgeable individual who has proven experience in a relevant setting. The right candidate will be someone who can inspire, think creatively, drive projects and achieve set objectives. They will be a strong leader who works well collaboratively and is a skilled negotiator who can realise our potential for income generation.
