To undertake all aspects of Carpentry and Joinery work including Maintenance, repairs and new build work, across the full range of domestic and non-domestic properties, including the larger and higher quality work in Public Buildings, ensuring that all such works are carried out in a manner that positively contributes to a high quality, responsive and cost effective service which meets Service and Customer expectations, throughout Fife.
Fife Council pays the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate to employees earning less than £8.51 per hour. If the hourly rate of pay for the post is less than the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate a supplement will be paid.
City and Guilds in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent SVQ level 3 attainments.
Equivalent Certification of completion of Apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery.
A valid CSCS (operative's level).
Asbestos Awareness Certification would be advantageous but not essential as this can be gained if successful.

To carry out all forms of Maintenance and Renewal work to a wide range of materials and components beyond small repairs and maintenance appropriate to trade.
To carry out large scale works appropriate to trade on building alterations, improvements, refurbishments, extensions and new build housing to both Domestic and Public Buildings throughout Fife.
Experience of Property Maintenance, Installations, and renewals to Domestic and / or non-Domestic properties.
Ability to carry out assigned work to standard and speed reasonably expected from a qualified Carpenter/Joiner.
Ability to work on your own with minimum Supervision.
Ability to interpret instructions from job tickets, specifications and Architectural Drawings.
Ability to carry out all assigned work to a high standard of workmanship, good practice and customer care.
