We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and well organized individual to join our refuse collection service as a Team Leader/Driver. You must be physically fit and not troubled with odorous and/or noxious materials/smells.
Your responsibilities will include:
• The safe operation of vehicles and undertaking the statutory vehicle checks.
• The efficient and effective supervision of a team that are collecting and removing recyclable material and waste from across Midlothian including health & safety and performance of that team
You will possess a clean LGV Category C Driving License and ideally have a recorded history of CPC and experience of driving LGV's in delivering waste collection duties. You will also be able to plan, adjust and deliver a workload in line with service delivery requirements.
It is essential that you can work in all weather conditions; use basic tools e.g. brush and shovel, undertake written and verbal instructions, and be helpful, courteous and respectful to both customers and colleagues. You will also be expected to undertake walking, lifting and manoeuvring of full and empty waste collection receptacles. Experience of supervising staff is desirable.
The successful applicant will be contracted to work over designated weekends/days during Christmas and New Year ensuring service continuity to our customers.

Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £22,015.79 per annum.
