My client, a leading Financial Services Organisation, is seeking an experienced Business Analyst based in Edinburgh.

The role is working on a Programme migrating legacy General Ledgers on to an Oracle Fusion platform.

This role is based in Edinburgh paying GBP(Apply online only) per day

The role

The Business Analysis team in Finance Operations Change is the Centre of Excellence for Business Analysis within Finance. As a Business Analyst you will lead the elicitation of requirements and traceability analysis deliverables to the IT delivery teams, working collaboratively with Business Architects, Solution Designers and Developers through to the implementation of the programme via Test Management. You will also be involved in Finance strategy development by supporting problem and root cause analysis.

The Business Analysis team engages with business areas to identify business problems and works with the Business Architecture team to drive innovative solutions. We provide analysis leadership to Finance-driven projects and develop and put into practice Business Analysis tools and processes to support them from inception through to completion. The Business Analysis team also provides essential project documentation to meet project governance protocols and act as Finance change consultants.

Your role will be to lead, design and facilitate business engagements in order to establish scope, business needs, project objectives, outcomes and expectations on business processes. By engaging with key stakeholders, you will ensure that quality business requirements are produced, accepted and approved. You will influence the solution design to meet business goals, scope and strategy requirements and will provide input into the identification and delivery of project benefits, traceability of requirements and impact of solutions. Your insight will provide the project with considerable support during testing and implementation.

You will be required to develop a good knowledge across a number of individual business/product areas, understanding interdependency and the impact of change to provide informed consultancy advice, independent review and quality assurance.

The ideal candidate will have a track record demonstrating the ability to investigate business requirements, problems and opportunities, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes. You will have extensive experience of applying analytical techniques to identify underlying issues and business needs, ideally supported by an ISEB/BCS business analysis qualification and professional Business Analyst experience. You will have been successful in developing strong relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders through open communication, partnership and consistent delivery. Financial Services sector understanding coupled with good accounting and Finance systems knowledge (e.g. GDRS) will be advantageous, as will previous experience of change projects with a Regulatory and Compliance focus.

Key skills required for the role

* Requirements Elicitation: Leads, designs and facilitates business engagements to establish scope, business needs, project objectives, outcomes and expectations on business processes.
* Requirements Development: Works with business analysis team to ensure that quality business requirements are produced, accepted and approved by the key stakeholder and business solution designs can deliver effectively.
* Requirements Management: Oversees end to end traceability against quality business requirements using appropriate tools and templates.
* Solution Assessment & Validation: Engages with key stakeholders to influence the solution design to meet business goals, scope and strategy requirements. Provides input into the identification and delivery of project benefits, traceability of requirements and impact of solutions. Supports testing and implementation.
* Consultancy Advice & Domain Knowledge: Develops good knowledge across a number of individual business/product areas, understanding interdependency and the impact of change to provide informed consultancy advice, independent review and quality assurance.
* Structure Approach: Defines the project objectives, scopes overall Analysis approach, plans and completes standard Change documentation and supplements.
* Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain networks with a diverse group of stakeholders to influence and support the delivery of projects and champions the business analysis function.
* People & Self Development: Contributes to the motivation and development of the Finance Change business analysis function to help build on our high performing team.
* Risk: Continuously monitors projects for business analysis risk issues and regulatory compliance and takes appropriate steps to mitigate.
