Cloud Engineer, a DevOps, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, Jenkins and Ansible Your new company You will be working for a rapidly expanding, award-winning digital company focused on excellence. They are seeking a DevOps-focused cloud infrastructure engineer with experience in web application development to build the platform of the future. Your new role Responsibilities Be instrumental in developing the business's cloud infrastructure architecture and strategy. Manage cloud application deployments in test and production environments. Provide key insights into cloud deployments using reports and dashboards. Work with application architects and development leads to design infrastructure solutions. Work with developers to implement continuous deployment solutions using infrastructure as code. Help diagnose infrastructure faults and where necessary liaise with IAAS and PAAS providers to resolve them. Create contingency plans for the event of data loss or infrastructure failure. Perform security audits and make recommendations and changes accordingly. Assist with the stress testing of application deployments. Mentor team members on cloud infrastructure best practices. What you'll need to succeed Key knowledge and experience Extensive knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) - certification is a significant plus. Experience with containerisation and container deployment solutions, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes Understanding of cloud infrastructure best practices for robust and resilient deployments that are scalable, secure, monitored and cost effective. Expertise with Linux systems. Understanding of modern networking and network troubleshooting. Familiarity with Jenkins and Ansible. Experience with Identity management and access control technologies. 3-5 years' relevant commercial experience Desirable knowledge Familiarity with Heroku and its ecosystem. Experience with Apache and NGINX. Use of Python / Ruby. Line management experience. Degree in a relevant subject area. Familiarity with JIRA or other Agile issue tracking tool Knowledge of Virtual Learning Environment Educated to degree level or higher in a relevant subject area What you'll get in return You'll be offered a competitive salary DOE, plus a generous employee benefit scheme.
