This post is internal and open to employees of Renfrewshire Council only. Based within the Flexicare Project which is located at the Anchor Centre, 51 - 55 Stock Street, Paisley. Working as part of a dedicated team of volunteers and staff, you will be responsible for the delivery of services to young people and adults who have a learning disability or autism, consistent with Social Work policies and procedures including assisting service users to meet their needs as detailed in their care plans in a way which respects their dignity as individuals, maximising their levels of independence and promoting their inclusion within the wider community. You must enjoy working with people who have learning difficulties and autism and have an understanding of their needs; be an effective communicator, showing a courteous manner to service users, carers, volunteers, other professionals and agencies; be able to work within social group settings and on your own initiative; be honest, enthusiastic, positive and willing to learn and apply new skills. You must be available to work flexible hours mainly in the evenings and weekends. Possession of a SVQ Level 2 in Social Care or equivalent qualification is desirable. A driving licence that allows you to drive a minibus is desirable. The hours for this post are: Wednesdays 3pm - 7pm Thursdays 6.30pm - 9.30pm If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post.
