Social Care Assistant (2 posts)

1 x 23.17 hours per week
1 x 26.59 hours per week

£21,168 - £22,314 pro rata (including Shift Allowance and Distant Islands Allowance)

Short Breaks and Supported Living Network is based in Kirkwall and offers support to adults who have learning disabilities in their own tenancies as well as a short breaks service for those who live with families/carers in the community.

Working both on an individual basis and as a member of a team you will adopt a person centred approach to deliver a high standard of flexible and responsive care to service users within the Supported Living Network. You will provide support and assistance to service users to maximise and maintain their independence and to access community facilities.

You should have experience of and with people who have disabilities, be committed to the principles of social inclusion and have a good understanding of the agenda for change within disability services.

You should hold an SVQ2 in Health and Social Care or other relevant qualification to enable registration with the SSSC or achieve this within 3 years of appointment. You will be provided with regular supervision and training opportunities to enhance your existing skills.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with adults.
