Administrative Assistant (Revenues)

21 hours per week (Monday-Wednesday, 14 hours permanent with an additional 7 hours temporary up to 31 March 2018 )
£18,490 - £19,476 pro rata (Including Distant Islands Allowance)

A part time vacancy exists for the post of Administrative Assistant (Revenues) within the Chief Executive's - Finance - Revenues and Benefits Service.

The post offers a permanent contract of 14 hours per week. An additional 7 hours per week is offered on a temporary basis until 31 March 2018 - any extension of which will be dependent upon availability of funding.

You will work within a small office based team responsible for dealing with all aspects of Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction and Scottish Welfare Fund applications. The main responsibilities include the processing, payment and administration of applications as well as responding to customer enquiries face-to-face, by telephone, email or correspondence.

You should have experience of dealing with the general public and have a good understanding of office systems and procedures. You will also have to follow and comply with legislative requirements, policies and working practices.

We are looking for someone who has SVQ 2 or equivalent level qualification (SCQF level 5) or, where the essential qualification is not held, a minimum of 2 years' experience of working in an administrative role is required.

This post is subject to Basic Disclosure Scotland clearance.
