The West Locality is looking for a highly motivated Project Worker to join the existing Raising Attainment Team in year three.

 

The service has been providing a Family Support Service to schools in Inverclyde as part of the Scottish Raising Attainment Challenge.  This is an opportunity to make a difference for children and their families who are experiencing adversity in a number of areas including poverty, family breakdown, isolation and loss and change.  

 

You should have experience of direct work with children and hold a relevant qualification in social work/social care, education or health.  

 

Work with families will be undertaken on an individual basis and group settings within the family home at the service base and in school.  The aim of the work is to provide some or all of the following activities

 

  • Support parents/carers to understand the children's emotional needs

  • Help parents/carers to build structure, routine and stability

  • Use a relationship based approach, to build parenting skills and promote positive family relationships.

  • Support parents/carers to engage in their children's learning.

  • Support children and their carer's to access activities that will promote health and well-being.
