For Falkirk Council employees this is a secondment opportunity. Prior to application please obtain confirmation from your current Line Manager that you can be released to take up this secondment opportunity, should you be successful. 

You will have day-to-day management responsibility for setting up and reviewing care packages, as well as managing and deploying staff. You must be able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines, and be able to deal confidently, calmly and sensitively with difficult situations. In addition, you must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internal and external, and have the ability to work as part of a team.

You must have experience of managing staff and have, (or be willing to work towards) an appropriate qualification.

You must have the ability to travel throughout the Falkirk Council area.

Due to the nature of the post it is essential that you are familiar with, and are competent in computer IT systems including Word and Excel packages. In addition; the service currently operates a Real Time Monitoring Scheduling System (CM2000) in which you would receive full training.

You are required to commit to a rostered shift working pattern including evenings and weekends over a 7 day period; and involving early and back shifts, with occasional mid shifts where required; the current shift times being 7am until 3.26pm; 9am until 5.26pm; and 1.34pm until 10pm.

You are required to participate in a standby roster.

The contracted hours of the post are 37 hours per week, but these will be averaged over a 3 week roster period; which consists of 14 days worked over a 21 day period. The shift pattern is currently 3 days on, 1 day off, 4 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 1 day off, 3 days on, 3 days off.

This post will require periods of lone working.

This post is temporary until September 2018 to cover maternity leave.
