Waste Water Treatment Operator
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be primarily responsible for supervising sludge collection/deliveries and ensuring that a good standard of site housekeeping is maintained across the site. You will also carry out a range of other duties including minor maintenance works and record keeping. Additionally, you will be expected to support the larger team in carrying out routine and breakdown work when required to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of pumps, pipe systems and the sewage treatment processes. You will carry out all operational duties safely and efficiently.
Although previous wastewater industry experience is desirable it is not essential, as full training will be given. A positive attitude, flexible approach and willingness to learn new skills is a must. You will be expected to:
- Live within reasonable travelling distance of Leven
- Regularly work outdoors working with untreated sewage, sludge etc
- Have a flexible attitude to the types of tasks undertaken and hours worked
- Be used to working both alone with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Work in a physically demanding environment
This work is based on Monday to Friday dayshift i.e. basic 40 hour week 0800 to 1630 with occasional out of hours working, incorporating a call out system for emergencies. You will also be required to provide shift cover if necessary, for which appropriate allowances will be paid.
