Applications are invited for the post of HMO Licensing and Landlord Registration Manager. The core purpose of this post is to ensure the Council meets its statutory duties in relation to the licensing of Houses in Multiple Occupation as defined in the Housing (Scotland) Act 2006 and the registration of private landlords as defined in the Antisocial Behaviour etc.(Scotland) Act 2004.
You will manage a small team that covers the whole region and ensure excellent customer service is delivered from our offices in Dumfries and Stranraer. The successful candidate will prepare, and present, reports to the Council's Licensing Panel when required. The post involves contributing to strategy and policy development at local and national level in relation to HMO Licensing and Landlord Registration.
You will ensure income targets are achieved, performance is monitored and day to day budgets are managed within agreed limits. This post requires excellent communication skills, an ability to manage conflict effectively and the capability to gather detailed information and present it clearly in a variety of formats. Ideally you will have experience of working in a regulatory or enforcement environment where you have developed skills that can be transferred to this role.
The successful candidate will be confident, assertive and able to work effectively as part of a team.
