St Crispin's is a special school for primary and secondary age pupils. This year we have four secondary and five primary classes. The school meets the needs of learners with complex, long term additional support needs who require asignificantly modified learning environment. The needs of learners are primarily associated with learning disabilities and
Autism Spectrum Disorders.To cover the secondment of the post holder a temporary Principal Teacher is required.
The main responsibilites are
•Supporting teams to implement positive behavioural strategies to support anxious pupils, this will include a high degree of structure and visual supports and a range of communication strategies.
•Supporting staff in functional analysis of behaviour to teach new skills to meet the function of the behaviour.
•Supporting class teams in adapting the curriculum to an appropriate developmental level to meet the needs of the pupils.
•Analysis of behaviour support strategies and regular in-service and CAT training.
Due to the nature of our pupils' needs and our delivery model, the successful candidate will likely come from a primary teaching background.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
