Domestic Abuse Advocacy Service (DAAS) Adult Advocate
Hourly Rate: £14.70 - £16.04
Salary: £26,837.33 - £29,282.82 per annum
Contract Duration: Temporary until 30 June 2018

The DAAS service provides short-term crisis intervention and support to high risk victims of domestic abuse by enhancing the multi-agency response. This service is delivered from Scottish Borders Council's Safer Communities team. The post holder will provide proactive, short to medium term support to adults at high risk of harm from domestic abuse from within a multi-agency framework and also lead on the development of personal risk assessments using SafeLives risk assessment framework, safety planning and ensure the best interest of the victims are considered by a wide range of statutory and voluntary agencies. There will be a requirement to work weekends, on a rotational basis.
The post holder will hold a professional qualification in a relevant field and/or an equivalent range and level of experience and be committed to undertaking further specialised training in risk assessment/advocacy such as SafeLives IDAA professional qualification.
Professional qualification in a related field, such as social work, education, health, criminal justice, housing or probation studies, and/or equivalent level/range of experience.
