This is an exciting opportunity for you to become a Social Care Officer within the Gleneagles Day Opportunities team. You will have the opportunity to support and encourage adults with profound multiple learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and complex needs to access and participate in a variety of group activities both within the community and Gleneagles Day Opportunities.
You will have the opportunity to be a key worker maintaining and reviewing personal files, developing and reviewing personal plans to meet specified and future outcomes, record progress and outcomes for individuals risk assessments, co-ordinating and chairing reviews, and be instrumental in assisting the development of activities in this proactive and forward thinking service.
You will be creative and motivated to support individuals with varying needs to lead as ordinary a life as possible.
You should have experience of working with vulnerable adults, preferably including individuals who have profound multiple learning disabilities, challenging behaviour and complex needs. Duties will also include assisting individuals with personal care and domestic tasks as required.
You should have excellent communication skills, these to include verbal, non verbal, written, and IT skills.
Driving is a job requirement to be able to carry out a function that is intrinsic to the delivery of the service.
The successful applicant must have held a full UK driving licence for at least two years and be prepared to under take MIDAS driver training, which requires a D1 entitlement.
