Waste Disposal LGV Driver (PKC03506)
£18,376 - £20,741
Friarton Depot, Perth

The overall purpose of the job involves the day-to-day operation of the post holders allocated vehicle, the collection and delivery of various types of recycling materials associated with the Councils kerb side collection schemes, recycling centres and recycling points. The job requires a range of duties including the operation of waste ejection/ containment vehicles i.e. Skip Lugger, 8 Wheeler (Roll On Roll Off), Artics, Refuse Collection and possibly HI-AB vehicles. Undertake ancillary duties as appropriate to the type of work carried out by The Environment Service.

To follow through and comply with The Environment Service safe systems of work for Waste Disposal and the Refuse Collection (copies available on request).

You are required to be available to work on a standby basis working additional hours outside normal working hours, including weekdays, as part of a rota with other staff in the performance of various works required by managers. Such works are usually planned in advance but may also have been unforeseeable in which case short term availability maybe required.

The Environment Service is currently working under new ways of working that has moved from the traditional Monday to Friday working; to a shift pattern that may include weekend working. The overall aim of the exercise is to secure a modern system that will comply with all Road Transport Regulations and provide continuous seven days a week working.

The contracted shift pattern for this post will be Friday - Monday 36 Hours
