The principal functions of this position are to provide technical support to the delivery of highway infrastructure projects and to support junior technical support staff within the highways infrastructure team to develop their capabilities. The role will be based in Glasgow with clients currently including Transport Scotland, Highways England, Major Contractors, HS2 and many local authorities. Key responsibilities of this role: * Production of design drawing elements and material schedules for highway infrastructure projects, from feasibility stage through to detailed design and construction * Liaison with the Project Manager and Discipline Leads to ensure technical excellence and drawing standards are maintained across disciplines and throughout the project life cycle * Responsible for delivery of project drawings and other outputs to programme and budget * Developing junior technician staff and promoting technical excellence The minimum qualifications for this position are: * Expert in use of AutoCAD 2015 and AutoCAD Civils 3D 2015 versions * Proficient in use of ProjectWise and BIM modelling software * Ability to generate precise drawings from field survey data * Excellent reading comprehension ability for construction drawings and maps * Demonstrates problem solving skills, sound judgement and can work on his/her own initiative * A committed team player * Experience working to tight budgets and deadlines Our Culture: Safety & health conscious, flexibleworking conditions, collaborative & friendly with regular socialactivities.
