We are looking for an experienced Traffic Signals/ ITSEngineer to join the Transport Planning team in our Glasgow office. CH2M has animpressive and thriving Transport Planning business in the UK, with theresponsibility of delivering a wide range of project work for strategic andlocal authority public sector clients. Our local clients include Transport Scotland,Glasgow City Council, City of Edinburgh Council and other Scottish localauthorities through the Scotland Excel Framework. We also deliver work forstrategic clients outside Scotland, such as Highways England, the Departmentfor Transport, Transport for London, the National Transport Authority inIreland, and key clients in our Middle East region. The Role: Weare looking for an experienced Traffic Signals/ ITS Engineer to join theTransport Planning team in our Glasgow office. You will work with established transport planning and highways teams, witha strong forward workload and track record of success. The right candidate willwork with these teams in delivering high profile projects for key clients, bothlocally and across the world. You will also be responsible for managing anddeveloping the skills of junior staff, with an emphasis Traffic Engineering andITS. Some of the key projects andframeworks being delivered from our Glasgow office include : * Scotland Excel Framework * A9 Dualling * The Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route * Smart Motorway ITS programme for Highways England * A-one + Integrated Highways Services * HS2 Phase 1 * Development of bus rapid transit (BRT) schemes for the National Transport Authority in Ireland * Design services in support of CH2M offices in the Middle East Key responsibilities will include: * Supporting the preparation of designs, modelling and specifications for traffic signals and ITS schemes * On site validation of systems such as MOVA * Ensuring the deliverables meet the expected levels of technical excellence. * Ensuring that our clients are receiving their expected very high levels of service * Promoting CH2M's capabilities throughout the UK and abroad. The successful candidate will be an expert in the traffic signals/ ITS field. There will be a need to act as a technical reviewer on projects in other regions and supporting others in your area of technical expertise. Additionally, the candidate will have strong project management and leadership skills. The minimum qualifications for this position are: * Evidence of being able to manage projects and tasks to an agreed scope of work and to time and budget requirements * Knowledge of concepts, principles and theories of traffic signal design and operation * Proven capability in the application of industry standard modelling software, including LINSIG and TRANSYT * Proven capability in the application of traffic signal operating techniques, including MOVA and SCOOT * Working knowledge of microsimulation software including VISSIM and PARAMICS desirable * Good report writing skills * Good communication skills, including an ability to communicate technical analysis to a non-technical audience Our Culture: Safety & health conscious, flexibleworking conditions, collaborative & friendly with regular socialactivities.
