Pullar House, Perth

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced HR professional to lead the newly established Resourcing Team within the HR Service. The team provides a range of strategic and operational resourcing services covering recruitment and selection, short term resourcing and safer recruitment and also leads on a number of key enabling projects which support the Councils transformation agenda including job families and job matching.

In addition the team is also responsible for the management, co-ordination and development of the Council's Modern Apprenticeship Programme, Professional Traineeships and Graduate Work Experience Scheme. The role requires corporate membership of the CIPD, sound and practical knowledge of current HR initiatives and practice, an awareness of national priorities and public sector reform, experience of managing projects, the ability to lead and manage a team, collaboration and partnership working, an ability to establish effective working relationships and a commitment to continuous improvement.

We want to recruit someone who wants to be involved in giving the best possible customer service, building strong relationships and being innovative, commercially aware and solution-focussed in supporting the Service management teams and individual managers in fulfilling their people management responsibilities. Most importantly, we want to recruit someone who can develop great relationships with people and the ability to motivate and lead a team. 

You will have a strong customer focus, a practical and “can-do” approach, effective project management skills, commercial awareness and professional credibility.
