Social Worker/Project Worker JSOP

You have a professional qualification in Social Work (DipSW or equivalent/MSc Psychology) and ideally have some experience working with sexual offenders and in the planning and delivery of group/offence focussed programmes. You have full registration with the SSSC. As well as having the ability to balance care with authority you are also able to represent the service with other agencies and are strongly committed to the Project's contribution to public protection.
Awareness of contemporary best practice in risk assessment, management and treatment of sex offenders is desirable, though full training and professional development within this area will be fully embedded into this role.
You will work jointly with Criminal Justice Social Work Staff throughout Aberdeenshire, Aberdeen and Moray in the delivery of the accredited group work programmes such as, Moving Forward: Making Changes, Caledonian Domestic Abuse programme. As such flexible working in accordance with departmental policies is expected.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
