The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of Corporate Skills Development Advisor. There is one post which is based at the SFRS Headquarters and National Training Centre, Cambuslang.
The post will support the Leadership and Skills Development Manager in the effective delivery of Corporate Skills learning and development across the Service and will work with the wider team to ensure that that people have the required skills, knowledge and capability for their role and to meet the overall corporate expectations placed on the SFRS, ensuring the delivery of blended solutions and training to meet the quality assurance requirements for the function.
Applicants must hold CIPD membership or a similar learning and development qualification, together with experience of working within a learning and development role and the delivery of blended solutions and training. Coaching and mentoring experience would be advantageous.
The post holder will require to have a flexible attitude, capacity to work under pressure with excellent communication and influencing skills. Flexibility in working arrangements will be required as travel throughout Scotland will be necessary.

This post is subject to the provision of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exemptions) Scotland Order 2013. The successful candidate will be required to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme and will be required to carry out regulated work with adults.
Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
