Additional Support for Learning Manager
The jobholder must have degree level qualifications in, Education, Community Learning and Development or equivalent (in another professional discipline) other relevant area.
In addition the jobholder must have a comprehensive understanding of current developments in the field of ASN & Nurture provisions. High level of specialist knowledge in relation to legislative requirement in ASL/ASN & Inclusion, ASN curriculum, staffing ratios knowledge and understanding of national ASN policies, strategy and ambitions.
Registration with a recognised professional association.
It is essential the jobholder has experience of working with a range of partners (successful partnership working and networking with key stakeholders e.g. Citizens, voluntary sector, business communities, government and public agencies) on inter-agency issues e.g. community development and/or regeneration issues, demonstrating an understanding of current policy trends.
S/he must have an understanding of current key government initiatives that are closely linked to inclusion and ASN delivery. Demonstrate awareness of political and community issues relating to local government Knowledge of major legislative and other issues facing local government with particular focus on achieving effective delivery of services at a time of significant change and financial challenges.
S/he must have considerable experience of developing networks with partners, stakeholders and individuals in a local context.
The jobholder will also require an understanding of Midlothian's geographic and demographic profile to allow an understanding of its underlying challenges and how they should be tackled.
• It is essential that s/he has substantial experience in the field of ASN &/or Inclusion and a proven track record managing a professional staff team or managing/leading on a project. S/he must have held a management role with budget responsibility and be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven leadership and management experience and expertise within an organisation of comparable scope, size and complexity within the public sector Experience of leading transformation successfully.

Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £45,647.06 per annum.
