Due to expansion, we are seeking to recruit a Paralegal focussing on financial services documentation for our Legal Services Unit (LSU).

About the role

The LSU is a specialist unit, staffed by paralegals which provides legal support services to our lawyers and clients across the UK. We formed the LSU to respond to the needs of our clients, who told us that they want innovative solutions and better value from their legal advisers, particularly around the resourcing of repeat legal work which does not necessarily require senior lawyer input.

Responsibilities will include

• Initially part of team focused on supporting a financial services client with the review and processing of derivatives securities documentation. Ensuring the quality of your work, working with the client and internal team and reporting to a senior paralegal as team leader.

Other tasks may include the following:

• Completing self-contained tasks involved in large transactions and projects.
• Delivering regular legal support tasks to fee earners for repeat matters and liaising with them and clients as required.
• managing/updating databases and online data rooms for transactions
• preparing first draft documents, board minutes for banking deals, and summaries of contracts undertaking business and legal research
• deeds scheduling/inventory preparation and maintenance
• reviewing, checking and collating documents (perhaps for a large litigation or arbitration case), ensuring that we achieve the high standards of accuracy and presentation which our clients expect.

About you

• A degree in Law or Business Law or previous paralegal experience in an office or legal environment would be advantageous;
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, challenging environment to tight deadlines;
• Organised, disciplined and thorough with a high degree of attention to detail
• Ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and clients
