The Employability and Skills Service are looking for a highly capable new team member to work with us to achieve our service and partnership objectives. The role will support the successful delivery of our European Social Fund programme for 2014 -2020 by providing support to people from vulnerable circumstances who are likely to require specialist support in their progression towards quality employment.
You will work with individuals on a one to one and group work basis, supporting them into sustainable employment. You will act as a link for the service to enable the matching of clients into opportunities to progress into quality employment. You will be qualified to SVQ Level 3 in a related discipline or possess the ability to demonstrate equivalence as well as relevant work experience, which should include experience of job brokerage and carrying out risk assessments. You will be proficient in Microsoft office packages and be an excellent communicator and be able to liaise with a wide range of individuals, projects and agencies.
You will be required to be a confident, highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with the ability to manage caseloads and work independently and contribute to a high performing team.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council. This post is part funded by the European Structural Funds and as such, the post holder will be solely involved in Structural Funds activity.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
This post is temporary until 31/12/2018. This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
