It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city. www.leisureandculturedundee.com Working as a Swim Teacher on a casual basis, you will be required to work across Leisure & Culture Dundee facilities. When work is available you will be contacted. There is no obligation for Leisure & Culture Dundee to offer you work, nor are you obliged to accept work. The rate of pay is £9.24 per hour.
You must hold a UKCC Level 1 Swimming Teaching Qualification and a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
To assist the Aquatics Development Manager and Aquatic Lessons Coordinator with delivering the full range of teaching functions and customer service requirements relating to Leisure and Culture Dundee's involvement in schools and the City-wide aquatics' programmes.
You will have experience of planning structured activity/sports sessions, be approachable, reliable and have the ability to motivate others. You must be able to work flexible hours and be willing to undertake training opportunities for the purposes of both personal and service development. You will have excellent communication skills to work within a team and have the ability to organise sessions and time effectively. You will be required to follow Health and Safety guidelines, Safe Systems of Work and complete Daily registers for participants along with continual assessments. You must be willing to develop your teaching skills whilst working with all ages, abilities and aquatic disciplines. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to work being offered by Leisure & Culture Dundee.
