Manager - Kirklandpark After School Club, Kirklandpark Primary School, Strathaven.

  • £10.55 per hour
  • 22.5 hours per week
  • 8:00am - 9:00am / 3:00pm - 6.00pm (term time)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated person to lead a small team supporting the provision of the Kirklandpark After School Club. This is a permanent post working on a part-time basis during term time only.

You will be required to assist in the provision of a high quality out of school care service in line with Care Inspectorate Regulations and guidelines.

The ideal candidate is likely to have experience of working with children in a supervisory capacity and will have the ability to relate to children and families in a positive manner, together with a creative and enthusiastic approach.

You will have either obtained or currently be studying towards a qualification in Childcare and the successful candidate will be required to achieve the SVQ Level 4 (SCQF Level 9) in Childcare, Learning & Development within an agreed timescale to allow registration with the SSC as a manager in a day care of children service. Registration with GTC, Nursing and Midwifery Council or related field will also be acceptable.  Experience of working as part of a team is essential and food hygiene and first aid certificates are desirable.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme date check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check.

This post has a minimum requirement of 2 satisfactory references, one of which must be your current or most recent employer and you must be able to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK at interview stage.

A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of all pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Candidates will be required to work in the Breakfast Club and the After School Club. The breakfast club runs from 8:00am - 9:00am and the After School Club 3:00pm - 06:00 (Mon - Thu) / 5:00pm (Fri) Monday to Friday.
