Building Services deliver both housing and non-housing repairs and refurbishment programmes using multi-disciplinary teams of approx 400 operatives and 50 staff.
The key duties of this post are:
Manage teams of operatives and contractors in the delivery of capital and revenue programmes ensuring all works are executed in a planned, safe and efficient manner
Responsible for managing, reporting and controlling resources and workload of all responsive/planned maintenance, new and ongoing work within Housing and Building Services covering an operational area. A key aspect of the role will be ensuring productivity by setting targets and addressing where these targets have not met.
The skills and experience you must have are:
Time served trades person
Experience of supervising and managing work within a property construction environment.
Ability to deliver programmes within defined timescales with limited supervision
Knowledge of current property legislation, building and Construction Design Management Regulations.
Proactive in identifying ways of improving service provision.
Excellent interpersonal skills and establishes effective working relationships with customers, contractors, employees and elected members.
Full current driving licence.
