Salary: £48,490 - £57,926
The Council launched Commercial Excellence in 2013 as the Council’s programme to deliver value for money from its spend with third parties. To deliver value for money we look for the optimal balance between cost, end user requirements and our wider environmental, social and economic and environmental objectives such as sustainability, community benefit, fair workpractices and the development of a vibrant local economy.
The Commercial Engagement Team is responsible for the relationship management and engagement with Directorates, Elected Members, committees, external agencies and key stakeholders for matters relating to commercial excellence, procurement and strategic projects. In addition the team is responsible for policy development, for example in relation to the Council’s approach to contract management and co-production of services with service users, providers and the third sector and also for the Council’s procurement systems and data management, including currently the development and implementation of the procurement modules within Business World, the Council’s replacement system for Oracle.
In this role you will lead on the direction, development and application of procurement strategy and policy and be responsible for delivering a number of strategic projects. You will also be the relationship manager for procurement for one or more Directorates.
