You will promote social inclusion and offer opportunities for people with disabilities in a range of community settings. Support service users by increasing their social and independent living skills in their own home in a person centred way that promotes the principles of social inclusion.
Fife Council pays the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate to employees earning less than £8.33 per hour. If the hourly rate of pay for the post is less than the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate a supplement will be paid.
Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
Duties include all aspects of personal care and moving and handling tasks, flexibility will be required in the way the days/hours are worked for each post dependant on the needs of service users.
Shift working and sleeping in duties are involved therefore the ability to work flexible shifts including night shift and sleepovers will be required.
You will undertake activities outwith the normal such as accompanying service users on holidays, to clubs, outings, sports events, training sessions and conferences.
You will have care related training and the ability to achieve an SVQ Level 2 together with experience of working with adults with disabilities.
